Today I want to take a short break from weight loss tips, to let you in on a more intimate side of my business. The heart behind Wildflower.
When my husband and I were ready to have a family, we were SO ready. It took us a number of months to get pregnant so when we did get that beloved double line, we told everyone. I mean EVERYONE. And then, the unthinkable happened. We lost the baby. We were still in the first trimester, but we were heart broken. We struggled to process it. Would we ever be able to carry a baby to term? Would we ever be parents?
A few months later we got pregnant again, but this time felt different. We cherished every second of being pregnant, and teetered between overjoyed and terrified every day. When our sweet little baby girl was born, we were so thankful and relieved. We didn’t even seem to mind waking up in the night, or hearing her cry. We were just so thankful she was with us. We were obsessed with her.
It was through this experience, that we started to discuss our heartbreak over knowing that some children were not being loved on in this same way, that there were beautiful, precious, amazing children in the world without any parents to love on them or obsess over them at all.
I have been working in weight loss care for over a decade now, and it has always been my passion. For many years now, I have wanted to start my own weight loss program. To create a program where I can empower women to not only lose weight but to cultivate a life they love, and create a lifestyle that supports weight maintenance.
As we felt our hearts being drawn to orphan care and caring for vulnerable children, we vowed that if I ever had the opportunity to run my own weight loss program, we would use it to help these children.
Fast forward to 2023, Wildflower Weight Loss is in full bloom and helping empower women to change their life one pound at a time, and we are getting to fulfil the vow we made all those years ago. We are donating 30% of all profits to organizations that help orphans. These organizations provide orphaned children with vital physical resources and emotional support. We have personally decided to also take extra earnings from the business (beyond what we need to live and grow Wildflower) and donate it as well, because… we have a goal! We would like to be able to raise enough to build an orphanage. I would love to be able to bless one of these amazing organizations with enough funds to build an orphanage in the next 3 years. It is a big goal, but I’ve been in the field of weight loss for many years so… I LOVE big, awesome goals!
Every day as I get to empower women to lose weight and discover the best version of themselves, I feel so honored to be able to be a part of this journey with them; and I feel so blessed to know that Wildflower Women are empowering children at the same time.
Wildflower is the culmination of three of my greatest passions in life: helping people lose weight, empowering women, and caring for children.
Thank you for listening to my heart.
